In a small Japanese village located at the foot of Mt. Fuji, Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. was founded in 1934.
Thirty years later in 1965, FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. opened its doors as a six-person office in the Empire State Building. Since then, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. has established itself within the American cultural and corporate landscape.
As a national leader in providing comprehensive imaging and information products and services, Fujifilm USA today operates offices, distribution centers, and photo labs throughout the United States.
The company’s rapid growth in the U.S. market helped to enhance Fujifilm’s identity as a global brand. In 1969, Morgan Guaranty Trust Company issued American Depository Receipts (ADRs) on Fuji Photo Film stock giving Fujifilm’s growth potential increased recognition in the international investment market.
In addition to its business achievements, Fujifilm has become an active participant in the communities in which it resides, and maintains an active presence at key national events. The company was named the official film of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Today, Fujifilm sponsors the U.S. Open Tennis Championship and Photo Days at Major League Baseball games across the county. And the Fujifilm Blimp can frequently be seen flying above many sporting and entertainment events throughout the country. © 2006 Fuji Film
